Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech commercializes the results of its scientific research, particularly through the creation of spin-off companies.
Since 1999, Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech – University of Liège has facilitated the creation of several spin-offs.
In addition to supporting the creation of spin-off companies, the company Gesval actively participates in the continued development of ULiège spin-off companies, either through its shareholding or by serving on the board of directors. It contributes directly to defining new strategies or identifying new resources.
Apeo
Apeo (short for “Agronomical Plant Extracts & Essential Oils”) is a spin-off specializing in the development, registration, and commercialization of bioherbicides based on essential oils.
Green SURF
Founded in 2017, Green SURF offers support for urban agriculture projects.
Horpi
Founded in 1999, Horpi offers a range of effective products for horticultural professionals.
La Miam Factory
Miam Factory is the first startup to emerge from the Smart Gastronomy Lab . Founded in 2016, the company is dedicated to both the transformation and customization of food using technologies such as 3D printing and laser engraving, and the marketing of these customized food products.
Lipofabrik (Elephant Vert)
Lipofabrik is a company specializing in plant protection and biostimulation. Its core business involves the extraction, purification, characterization, and formulation of natural active molecules from the lipopeptide family, derived fromBacillus subtilis bacterial cultures.
VIVUS
Founded by Sylvain Boisson and Grégory Mahy, two experts passionate about nature, VIVUS draws on 15 years of expertise and know-how, developed within the Biodiversity and Landscape research team at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, to integrate nature into the heart of industrial and urban environments. Currently, VIVUS focuses on implementing green wall and green roof projects and is expanding its service offerings to real estate developers and stakeholders involved in urban, peri-urban, and industrial landscapes, as well as to companies seeking to integrate biodiversity considerations into their strategies.
