Like all current events, the start of the 2020 academic year at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech has had to play the adaptation card. The Dean, professors and staff members were keen to attend this official ceremony which marks the beginning of a whole year of study and work. For 2020, the theme chosen is: "resilience and innovation". The formal ceremony will be held as usual at the Espace Senghor. However, the number of participants will be limited due to health measures. An outdoor broadcast will therefore be proposed on a space located in the heart of the Faculty, on the courtyard of honor. All the usual speakers are invited to this ceremony which, despite the circumstances, will indeed mark the beginning of the academic year on the Gembloutois Campus.

Program: at 5:00 p.m.: speech by Dean Frédéric Francis, 5:20 p.m.: speech by student representatives followed by the inaugural lesson. This will take the form of an overview of the activities taking place at the Faculty with a particular focus on current events at TERRA. To this end, a video presented by Phillipe Jacques (President of TERRA) will review the 4 Cares (Environment is Life, Agriculture is Life, Forest is Life and Food is Life).

This year, unfortunately, the traditional reception will not be able to take place. However, participants will be able to discover the products of the Abbey of Gembloux.
