The University of Liege has just joined the European alliance Agrinatura and officially joins one of the largest research organizations in Europe dedicated to the development of agriculture.

The Agrinatura EEIG has worked for more than thirty years to nurturing scientific excellence through joint research, teaching programs and projects aimed at achieving the United Nations' sustainable development goals. Agrinatura brings together 35 European universities and research institutes with expertise in tropical and subtropical agriculture, organic agriculture, forestry, food security and human nutrition, veterinary medicine, fisheries and related environmental sciences.

It is within this framework that the University of Liège, and particularly Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, will bring its experience and skills to the EEIG.

In May 2019, Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech hosted the General Assembly of Agrinatura and presented its expertise on the theme "Forests of tomorrow in the service of UN sustainable development goals: from monitoring to biobased products" with seminars held on the challenges in agroforestry or green chemistry and visits to the TERRA research center.
