A day of meetings around AgriTech

On Tuesday, May 23, the Franco-Belgian AgriTech meeting was held on the Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech campus in collaboration with the French Embassy. The day consisted of several conferences on the state of the art of AgriTech and its challenges in a Franco-Belgian and European context before giving way to workshops on the financing and support of research and innovation projects.
This was a unique opportunity to bring together French and Dutch-speaking Belgian researchers and to strengthen the links with French grandes écoles and institutes active in agronomy (INRAE, AgroParisTech, Institut Agro, University of Rennes) but also business leaders active in research projects related to the use of technologies in agriculture.
This day, rich in information and debates, ended with the intervention of Marianne Streels, President of the FWA, who insisted on the importance of exchanging the advances in scientific research between universities and colleges and farmers. By promoting this exchange of knowledge, she hopes to demonstrate to the latter the usefulness and the merits of advanced research at the European level.
