Sustainable management of tropical forests for the preservation of these unique ecosystems

The "Africasylves" exhibition reveals to us the extraordinary beauty and great richness of the forests of Central Africa, the diversity of human activities that are developing there, the threats they are facing, and finally the solutions provided by sustainable management.
Stigmatised by the media, logging is often considered the main cause of deforestation in Central Africa. Through their field studies, the Gembloux researchers show that well-managed logging can, on the contrary, be one of the best guarantees for safeguarding these exceptional forests.

Scientific explanations, quality pictures, documentary films, drawings and sculptures are presented in an artistic and entertaining way to amaze us and raise our awareness of this issue.

A travelling exhibition has been created on the basis of these supports and is available to the general public.
