Creating your own study tools" seminar

If note-taking is a new and difficult exercise for most newcomers, it's often the use of raw notes that causes problems.

In order to make students aware that note-taking is only the first step towards creating a suitable study tool, we organize an activity as part of the math course in the first four months, in collaboration with the course instructor, which deals with one of the subjects covered in the course:

  • the different ways of taking notes
  • how to rework notes
  • how to complete the tool created on the basis of the theoretical course with notions worked on in the tutorials associated with the course

The aim of this activity is to create an integrated tool so that the theory course and the exercises are no longer two separate courses.

Adapting your working methods" seminar

Are you disappointed by the results of your formative tests ?

Are you finding that your working methods are not helping you to meet your teachers' requirements?

The week after the November results, we'll be organizing a seminar with the following objectives:

  • Analyze and understand your results
  • Gain a better understanding of teachers' requirements
  • Become aware of the qualities and shortcomings of your working method, with a view to improving it
  • Reflect on the adjustments you need to make to prepare for the June session

A similar seminar for all faculties is scheduled for the Liège site after the January session.

Managing stress" seminar

Sources of stress can be many and varied. When stress becomes an obstacle to your success, you need to learn how to manage it.

To help you manage your stress, we're organizing a relatively active 2-hour seminar on the Gembloux site, based on the principles of moderate physical activity and proper body management.

This session will be led by an assistant from the Department of Motor Sciences at the University of Liège. During this activity, you will experiment with different relaxation techniques such as self-massages and stretching, and you will experience several playful and dynamic situations enabling you to become aware of various tricks to control your anxiety.

If you are not available for the Gembloux session, other sessions will be organized on the Liège site.
