On May 7, Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech organized a workshop entitled "Biodiversity, Business, Biophilia" with four actors from the economic world in Belgium.
This workshop was organized as part of the presentation of the insignia of Doctor Honoris Causa to Eric Domb last March at the University of Liège.
Workshop "Bioversity, Business, Biophilia"
How does the business world view biodiversity? Can economic sectors support biodiversity? Can biodiversity contribute to the well-being of the economic ecosystem?
Four actors from the Belgian business world came to discuss with 250 first baccalaureate students, staff members and people from outside the faculty about the place of biodiversity in the business world:
- Eric Domb, creator of Pairi Daiza
- Michel Calozet, Managing Director of the Fédération des entreprises extractives
- David van Drooghenbroeck, Director of the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi project
- Michel Rougeron, Director of the Tropical Timber Marketing Company
These four actors operate in different economic activities but have chosen to make biodiversity a concern within their project.
