This year the tropical forestry specialization module was held in Cameroon. For the first time, this was a joint training between Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech - ULiège and ERAIFT. For three weeks, 13 students from Gembloux, 6 students from ERAIFT and 6 staff members from the Pallisco forestry company were present.

The first two weeks took place in the heart of the forest massif attributed to Pallisco. This made it possible to understand the different stages of sustainable forest exploitation and wood processing, to learn about tree recognition, to study forest dynamics and to start group work. The third week was devoted to agroforestry and protected areas around Mbalmayo.

The exchanges between learners from the North and the South were remarkably constructive, particularly because they came from nine different countries and a variety of academic backgrounds.

The training, which was intended to be financially accessible to all, was supported by the University of Liège, ERAIFT, Nature + asbl, EXOTT and Pallisco.
