European Master in Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy

Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech is part of a European programme called "BIOCEB" which focuses on the global deployment of the bioeconomy.

BIOCEB

The Erasmus Mundus BIOCEB - European Master in Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy - is a two-year international programme in biological and chemical engineering for a sustainable bioeconomy.

Bioceb aims to qualify students to cope with the challenges related to bioeconomy value chains, from biomass to bioproducts and markets.

The training provides a progressive approach to green chemistry and biomass conversion. Courses focus on chemistry, biology, and economic and environmental sciences

The BIOCEB programme is offered by a consortium of five European universities from France, Finland, Estonia and Belgium:

  • Institut national des sciences et industries du vivant et de l'environnement (AgroParisTech)
  • Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA)
  • Université de Liège (ULiège-Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech)
  • Aalto University
  • Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech)

Selected students will follow an intensive curriculum during two years with  mandatory mobility periods among the partner Universities , shared between academic courses, teamwork, practical trainings and internship for their MSc. thesis.

Successful Bioceb students will obtain a triple degree (according to their study track).

Bioceb degrees awarded to the students at the end of the programme :

  • Master in Integrative Biology and Physiology (IBP), study track Biomass Engineering for Bioeconomy (BEB), delivered by the Université Paris-Saclay (UPSaclay), operated by AgroParisTech ;
  • Master of Science (Technology), delivered by Aalto University;
  • Master of Science in Engineering, delivered by Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Estonia;
  • Master in Biosciences engineering: Chemistry and Bio-industries, delivered by the University of Liege (ULiège);
  • Master in Biology AgroSciences (BAS), delivered by the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA).

The official language of the training is English.
